OVERVIEW:
Each year in Bushnell Park, the Greater Hartford Marathon Foundation hosts its 26-mile race that runs its course through Hartford, East Hartford, South Windsor, and West Hartford. The production elements that Event Resources provides began with the challenge of hanging the GHM’s finish line banner. After some design consideration, we recommended using theatrical truss, even though its weight and potential wind load required that we anchor each side with a small stage. This worked perfectly, as the finish line officials, media sponsors, and event commentators now had a platform on which to stand. This design killed two birds with one stone – the banner hung tautly, and event officials finally had a space that elevated them from the crowd – which made everyone happy.
