It’s a great honor for Event Resources to have been involved in Hartford 21’s groundbreaking, and its topping off ceremony. What a great way to watch the transformation of one of Hartford’s most important civil buildings! When Mary Coursey of Coursey & Company, a public relations firm, first engaged our services, Hartford 21 had already chosen the venue – on the sidewalk in front of the old Hartford Civic Center’s entrance. However, their concern was both the appearance and the geography of rocky, uneven concrete that was soon to be demolished. The solution was to cover the ground with astroturf, upon which our stage, chairs, and lectern sat. In the turf, we cut a large hole to expose the ground below for the ceremonial shovels in the groud. We also provided sound support, the stage area’s greenery, a press riser, and a mult box for the press.
