EVENT:
Governor Rowland’s Inauguration
CLIENT:
The State of Connecticut
OVERVIEW:
Event Resources was honored to produce Governor
Rowland’s Inaugural Ceremony for his second
term as Governor. We were given a challenge on this
one – the charge to recreate the look of Gov.
Rowland’s first Inaugural Ceremony from a four-year-old
newspaper photo. It was a challenge our shop crew
was up for, however. We successfully built a custom
circular stage with curved staircases on either side,
and a ramp entrance to the rear. Once that was completed,
the other elements fell into place – sound support,
a lectern, black folding chairs, theatrical lighting,
and a press riser. We of course had to accommodate
the press with mult boxes for audio feeds from our
sound system, which enabled multiple parties to record
directly from the system. We also built camera cut-away
risers, which enabled camera operators to film from
more than one angle. The finished product was an elegant
affair in the Legislative Office Building whose aesthetics
matched the stately sentiment communicated through
the presence of Connecticut’s military services.
