EVENT:
Annual Book Bazaar
CLIENT:
Hartford Public Library
OVERVIEW:
Each fall, the Hartford Public Library
hosts their annual Book Bazaar, an event that takes
on a different them in literature. In 2005, the event
had a Persian theme, and Event Resources provided
décor that brought bright, warm colors and
textures to an otherwise dreary Sunday afternoon in
the Hartford Public Library’s parking lot off
Sheldon St. in Hartford. The transformation started
with a series of large white tents that we supplied.
In one, we provided tables, chairs, and beautiful
swags of exotic-colored fabric for decoration. In
another tent, we provided a stage and sound support
for local ethnomusicologist Dennis Waring, who taught
guests about music and instruments indigenous to the
Middle East – he even enlisted the help of our
owner and president Arnold Berman! The remaining two
tents housed a gorgeous food and beverage service
and seating for guests, and another that housed local
Middle Eastern vendors, who educated guests about
their language, food, music, and most importantly
– their books!
