OVERVIEW:
First Night Hartford is hands down the most logistically involved event that Event Resources manages. It also wins the award for requiring the most time to plan. First Night is Hartford’s premier New Year’s celebration. It takes place over the span of ten hours, in an average of twenty venues throughout downtown Hartford. In a nutshell, First Night is a culmination of the arts in Hartford – which means that over forty performances take place throughout the day. Everything from live music to dance, storytelling, visual art installations, and comedy are represented in First Night – not to mention fireworks! Event Resources oversees everything from artist application and selection to site selection and website maintenance. And, we handle every logistical aspect of the event the day of – which includes all production elements for every performance. Event Resources started managing First Night in 1989 – the year of its inception!
